The restoration of a historical work of art calls for extensive knowledge of both the original style of the object and the specific charcter of each period.

ounded in Paris in 1962, Ateliers GOHARD employ about fifteen people. Most of them are highly skilled and shop trained artisans that share a common love for their craft and a great respect for treasures put into their hands. When possible, the works to be repaired are disassembled and transported to the workshop where they are restored. Otherwise, the versatile craftsmen do the job on the site. Some commissions are particulary spectacular, the Paris Invalides Dome for instance, or more recently, the boiserie from the "Hotel de la Bouexière" (Paris) of the Minneapolis institute of Arts.
